▶   Fruits are a rich source of folic acids, which is the most important nutrient for pregnant women. Fruits are rich in potassium, which is important to keep your blood pressure regulated. Vitamin C, a powerful antioxidant, is abundantly found in citrus fruits
 
▶   Eating whole fruit may help you consume fewer calories and lose weight over time. However, drinking fruit juice may have the opposite effect. 1-2 whole fruits are recommended each day, depending on how many calories you need
 
▶   Try eating freshly cut local and ripe fruits. But if you don’t like eating fruits, you can easily Get the same benefits from vegetables too:
Vitamin C : Cauliflower, broccoli, peas & Capsicum
Potassium: Potatoes, Nut butters & Legumes
Fibre: Legumes & grains
 
At the end of the day, fruits are very nutritious, but they don’t contain any essential nutrients that you can’t get from other foods, like vegetables. It’s fine to avoid fruits as long as you are getting those nutrients from other foods.
